Evropský pohár Arco - 8. místo

První mezinárodní závod v obtížnosti hostila Mekka lezení, Arco. Jedeme na otočku s rodinkou. V sobotní kvalifikaci se necítím úplně odpočatý, navíc startuji v jedné cestě jako první a dělám chybu, ve druhé cestě si ale polepším a zajišťuji si postup do semifinále.

Semifinále je ultra vytrvalostní cesta, daří se mi projít bez větších problémů až do chytu 48, jsem vyšťavený, ale hned mi dochází, že jsem si mohl více odpočinout a třeba přidat ještě pár kroků. Naštěstí výkon stačil tak akorát na postup do dalšího kola a společně s Míšou Smetanovou si ještě jednou užijeme atmosféru legendární stěny v Arcu.

Na finále se cítím skvěle, proběhnu úvodem, bohužel před polovinou cesty špatně přečtu cestu, smeká mi noha a ačkoliv jsem ještě celkem při síle, jdu k zemi a končím na 8.místě.

The first international competition in lead climbing took place in Arco, the Mecca of climbing and I went there with my family. I'm a bit tired during the qualification on Saturday, I climb one route first and make a mistake, but my performance is better on the second route, so in the end I pass to the semifinal.

The semifinal route requires loads of endurance, I reach the 48th hold before I get tired, and I realize that I could have taken more rest and could get even several moves further. Fortunately, the performance was quite enough for passing to the final so I can enjoy the atmosphere of the legendary Arco wall once again, together with Míša Smetanová, the second finalist.

During the final climb I feel great, unfortunately I fail in reading the route, I slip and even though I am still ok as far as power goes, I go down and end at the 8th place.
